The piece
A broad, signet-shaped band with a single rectangular step-cut stone set into its face.
The band widens towards the top and is shaped in flat planes, so the ring has the outline and presence of a signet. Where a signet would carry an engraving, this one carries a stone, held between walls of silver in a channel setting and framed by the metal around it rather than raised above it. It is the heaviest ring in the men's collection.
Wear it on the little finger in the signet tradition, or alone on the ring finger.
