The piece
The same open, single-stone stud, made smaller.
Fine prongs, one stone, no surrounding metal - the same construction as our larger classic stud, scaled down. Lighter in the ear and closer to the lobe, which is what makes it the easier pair for a second piercing or for anyone who finds studs heavy. A push lock closes it. Scaling a solitaire stud down is harder than it sounds: the prongs have to hold the same proportion of the stone at a smaller size, or the setting starts to look clumsy up close.
Wears well as the upper of two piercings, with the larger classic stud below.
