The piece
A stud built from a cluster of small stones grouped tightly enough to read as one shape.
This is the pavé approach: many small stones set close together in beads of metal so the surface reads as stone rather than as silver. It gives a stud presence without a large centre, and it sits flat enough to sleep in if you forget. Because the stones are small and close, a very soft brush does more for it than any polish.
